Every contacts program I've used has a silhouette and uses those proportions, even! Now a solid keyhole shape, and it wouldn't be ambiguous. The designer chose to break that shape by cutting out a quarter of it, and overly narrow the neck, so now it looks like a silhouette. The Lockwise one would've been fine, if there was a keyhole in the icon. they have lines to the edge of the canopy. I guess those are supposed to be parachutes, but that isn't how a parachute works. Going to they have a graphic on the right of an umbrella and a file logo. Maybe they were going for a parachute supply drop? If that the case, then a package on a tether would get the idea across, but a semi-circle with an arrow doesn't. I never would've noticed dropping a package in the umbrella thing, but the icon is just an arrow. Not knowing what the products were, seeing the name and the icon together actually left me more confused! For all three, both the name and the icon design are generic, and only tangentially related. I had to look up what each of those services were after seeing them on the icon theme design page. At least Monitor is searching for something, so the icon is at least related to that function. nothing I guess, but it's kinda hard to represent breach reporting in an icon. Send uses a file icon instead of a generic umbrella arrow thing. If you look at the product pages for all of these, there is much better (as in functional) artwork in the backgrounds. What? They all give the an impression that is unrelated to what the function is. Lockwise (Contacts/People icon) - Looks like the contacts icon from phones and many other things.Actually is a breach notification service.

  • Send (Umbrella icon) - Looks like some kind of protection service.
  • I have no idea what any of them should be doing, or, worse, the wrong impression.

Similar problems to the other new designs. It also followed from many other browsers, most of which featured the globe in them in some way. Not perfect, but understandable, and attractive. The old logo had the firefox wrapping around the world, for world wide web. (The exception being that as small sizes, you can't even make out the firefox.) However, it does not give any idea about what Firefox is supposed to be doing. This logo, while not to my liking, is pretty easily discernible from others, and still recognizable as the Firefox logo.
